PERRIN Steering Rack Lockdown for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ creates a solid connection between the steering rack and chassis. This increases driver feel and communication from the front tires while navigating those twisty bends.
Better Than Bushings
The PERRIN Steering Rack Lockdown creates a solid connection between the frame and the steering rack, eliminating the soft flex of the OEM bushings. Unlike other aftermarket steering rack bushings, which are merely stiffer than OEM bushings; PERRIN Lockdowns take this further with virtually zero flex.
Construction
Machined from solid 6061 T6 aluminum, the PERRIN Steering Rack Lockdown is perfectly designed to bolt directly to the sub-frame and the steering rack, solidly tying the steering rack to the frame of the car.
This solid connection eliminates the flexing and shifting of the rack. No special tools are required to install the lockdown.
PERRIN Steering Rack Lockdowns provide the benefit of an increased driver feel at the cost of adding some noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). The increase in NVH is minimal and nearly impossible to feel.
